These portraits are unique. They were started by one of the subjects sitting across from the other. After awhile the drawings were returned to the subject and the subject put the finishing touches on them. A good design exercise.
These painting are made with ink on layered sheets of paper to create a 3-D effect. some work better than others but the effect is strong and utilizes both brush and ink and pen and ink.
In this exercise we took a common household object and blew it up to fill the whole page. The second exercise was to do portraits of four pieces of popcorn. Here's how they turned out.
